God’s heart beats for hurting people. We want our church’s heart to beat for the same thing. Jesus described His ministry in Luke 4 as preaching the Gospel to the poor, healing the broken hearted, proclaiming liberty to the captives, and to setting free those who are oppressed. Some of the ways FBC serves the local community are as follows… CONCERN We provide monthly financial support to CONCERN, the local food and clothes pantry. SINGLE MOM’S CAR CARE CLINIC AND HAIR CARE EVENT This twice yearly event is intended to let single mothers know they are not alone in their journey. We hope to lighten their load just a little by servicing a vehicle, offering a wash and vacuum, and even haircuts for the family. Saturday, April 4th will be the next Car Care event. Look again for the first Saturday in October. KANSAS CITY RESCUE MISSION Our Student Ministry takes periodic trips to the urban core of Kansas City to provide meals and encouragement to those struggling with homeless. FAITH IN ACTION Caution: Church at work! For this once-a-year-event, FBC cancels our Sunday morning worship gathering to go beyond the four walls and serve in our community. Giving new meaning to the term worship service our goal is to put our faith into action in tangible ways. CHRISTMAS DINNER Some caring people at FBC provide companionship and good, hot food for those whose Christmas Day may be limited.
